Performing Arts

At Chelsea Heights Primary School, Performing Arts inspires students to create, perform and respond through music, dance and drama. Students develop their skills, creativity and confidence through singing, movement, instrumental play and imaginative exploration.

From Foundation to Year 6, students participate in engaging dance and movement experiences that build coordination, expression and storytelling skills in both individual and collaborative settings.

Our Performing Arts program also strengthens connections to whole-school learning priorities, including Core Knowledge, literacy and First Nations perspectives, providing students with rich opportunities to deepen their understanding across the curriculum.

In Years 5 and 6, students work towards an exciting end-of-year production, giving them the opportunity to be involved in a large-scale performance and develop confidence performing on stage. Students are encouraged to contribute their ideas and student voice throughout the production process, helping to shape a memorable and meaningful performance experience.

Chelsea Heights Primary School also hosts ‘The Music Bus’ lessons for students interested in extending their musical learning. Music Bus is an optional parent-funded program, with fees paid directly to Music Bus. Students can participate in 30-minute small group lessons in keyboard, guitar or drums. Music Bus currently attends Chelsea Heights Primary School each Tuesday.
