Information Communication Technology
At Chelsea Heights PS, ICT is taught across all levels from Foundation to Year 6 as a Specialist subject (one hour per week).
ICT is a fundamental component of teaching and learning at CHPS and provides students with the education to safely and responsibly use a range of software connected to PCs, laptops and iPads.
The primary focus of ICT at our school are for students to be explicitly taught:
Each classroom is equipped with Smart boards/TVs and classrooms have access to laptops & iPads.
CHPS regularly monitors the changes in the world of technology, ensuring our approaches to teaching and learning are up to date. The ICT curriculum and programs are designed to cater for the learning needs of all students, equipping them to be life-long learners in the ever-changing space of technology.
Basic programming concepts are explored throughout program.
Each year, our school celebrates ESafety Week as part of our ICT curriculum. CHPS students continue to learn about how to be safe with devices throughout the year.
The ESafety Commissioner website is a valuable online resource that provides information for both parents and children.
