Instructional Model

At Chelsea Heights Primary School our school-wide instructional approach is the gradual release of responsibility.  This research-based model involves the gradual release of responsibility from teacher to student through a series of structured and scaffolded learning sequences. 


Our Reading, Writing and Maths Workshops all follow the ‘I do, we do, you do’ lesson structure, which moves from explicit instruction through to independent practice.
