We have been working hard this year to update our library and increase the love of reading and joy of books that we all share. By gradually introducing new processes, altering the layout and introducing new timetables we have been able to decrease the number of lost and overdue books, increase the number of new resources, make sure each student has access to all the library resources at least once a week and now are pleased to announce the arrival of our "CHPS Web OPAC" (online catalogue).

Students and teachers alike are enjoying their weekly library sessions and story times. Learning all about authors, illustrators, publishers, genres, types of books, styles of writing and much more has led to lots of questions and a passion for finding the right book. It's great to receive so many requests for authors, series, novels and subjects. The introduction of our CHPS Web OPAC should really help students with this too.

So what exactly is the CHPS Web OPAC? Why not check it out by clicking on the following link?

(This is currently only available within our school, but will soon be available to all wherever they are as long as they have internet access.)

The CHPS Web OPAC allows staff and student with access to the internet to:

  • Search for resources
  • Place reserves
  • View new resources
  • Write reviews
  • Request resources
  • Find links to other useful databanks and websites
  • Check items they have on loan

Some of these functions require a Borrower Number and Pin (which each CHPS Student and Staff member receive), but anyone can still browse our catalogue, read the reviews and learn from the stories on our home page.

We also have Book Week, the Book Week Performance and our annual Book Fair to look forward to.

If you would like to volunteer in the library or have any library related queries, please contact us on 9772 4139.

    Happy Reading :)
